The ethos of the Van Dykes is one of radical rebellion and queer takeover.  Our aim is to create a healing space for queer community outdoors through adventures, art, books, and events. 

Inspired from the original Van Dykes from the 1970’s, a caravan of dyke outlaws that hit the road traveling on only queer land.

We represent a passing of the torch as the new generation of Van Dykes and queer rebels. Creating an inclusive space, centering and celebrating dykes, 2S, non-binary, trans, and queer folks alike. Meeting queers from all walks of life and of all ages, we aim to be intergenerational storytellers of queer history for future generations. We seek to preserve and document our incredible and complex stories along the way.

We travel around in a 1978 VW van and create pop ups and events around the U.S. as well as creating documentary zines of our adventures. Van Dykes Vol. I and Vol. II are out now!
